Really...8 weeks since my last post

So sorry for the delay, but all you parents out there know life can get crazy when a new born enters your life. I noticed my last post was on October 5th...well I went into labor that night, ha! Chad and I took a long walk and was starting to feel crampy. After dinner Chad was getting ready for an early morning for work the next day when I told him I thought baby Side was on his way. Contractions started around 7:30 and by 9:00 we were on our way to the hospital. My first question when we got there was when do I get my epidural. Well, I did some walking, got admitted, and finally got the epidural at 2 in the morning. When I asked people what contractions felt like they would always say...you will know, well trust me you will!! After the epidural is was smooth sailing until they broke my water about 5am and realized Baby Side went poo poo inside which means some type of stress. Well, shortly after I spiked a fever due to some infection, my dilation slowed, and by 9 my dr decided we needed to get baby Side out soon so c-section here we come. Once I heard the baby pooped I. The womb I knew it was a boy...i knew a girl wouldn't do that :). I will spare the details from the c-section but at 10:15 Caden Michael Side was born. He was perfect and we were so in love.
I had some complications with my epidural so didnt have the most pleasant hospital stay. Thank God for Chad because he had to do everything the first 2 weeks besides breastfeed due to my epidural. After 2 blood patches I was finally back on my feet and ready to be a mommy!!

These past 8 weeks have been amazing. Not gonna lie it takes so time getting used to waking up several times through the night. Caden isn't much of a sleeper. He loves to be up and looking around..I always promise him it's ok to sleep and I promise to fill him in on everything he missed when he wakes up! He is such a lover and loves to cuddle, kick his legs on the changing table, sleep in the baby bijorn while mommy does housework, go for car rides, and the smile on his face in the morning when I go get him out of his crib is the best!!! Sometimes in the middle of the night I don't want to put him back in his crib after a feeding bc I know it won't be much longer that I feed him in the middle of the night. It's bittersweet bc I'm also excited to get my sleep.

Life is good and we are excited for his 2 month apt next week. I'll update his stats then.

I'm ready, but is Baby Side??

The answer to that question right now is no, but it can change any day.  As my due date is quickly approaching  (4 days)  The car seat is installed, pack n play set up, and the swing has its batteries now we just need a baby to start using all of it.  At my appointment on Friday the 30th I was 1 cm dilated and 60 percent effaced.  I am looking forward to my appointment this Friday to see if there has been any progress.  I told Chad I wasn't going to leave until they gave me an induction date.  Keep your fingers crossed that Baby Side wants to meet us before the 16th (my doctor will let me go a week late).

Arizona=HOT

I thought when we went to Arizona that "dry heat" wouldn't be as bad as "humid heat"...well I was wrong.  115 degrees really feels like 115 degrees and being 35 weeks pregnant didn't help!  It was still a great getaway.  Chad went golfing a few times and I spent the entire weekend at the pool relaxing and sipping on virgin Miami Vices (of course virgin).  We usually took an afternoon nap so I could make it out to dinner and do some type of activity.  I must admit though we were usually in bed by 10:00pm.  The heat really does suck the life out of you.  It was a nice little trip before Baby Side arrives.  Did I mention it is only 3 weeks away!!!  I have an appointment tomorrow to see how things are progressing.  If I was a betting woman I would say I am going to go a week late, but we will see!    Here are a few pictures from Arizona.  It is a place we would love to visit again....but not pregnant :)

Before Baby Side Bucket List

33.5 weeks...how did I get this far so fast!  I feel like this summer has flown by and Fall is right around the corner.  I had/have a few things that I would like to check off my "before baby Side gets here bucket list".

1.  The first thing was checked off last weekend when I made the trip down to Magnet, IN for Tracy's Bachelorette Party.  Yes, I said Magnet, IN...its about a 3 hour drive to Southern Indiana.  We stayed in a cabin and it was a nice weekend with the girls.  Bachelorette parties and pregnancy don't go very well together, but it was still fun to be the sober girl watching everyone else stumble around.  I must admit though I was very happy in the morning when everyone else was hung over.  I don't miss those days.

2.  We leave September 1st for Scottsdale, AZ for a long weekend.  Chad and I wanted to take a "babymoon", but it never seemed to work out so when this trip popped up I begged my doctor to give me permission to travel 34 weeks pregnant.  I have an apt the day we are leaving so if for some reason Baby Side is anywhere is site there will be no babymoon for us.  So far we are looking good!

3.  Tracy's Shower in September.  I am a little worried since Tracy & Jeremy are getting married a week before my due date so I hope to make it to all the pre-wedding festivities just in case I am in the hospital on October 1st.

4. Makenzie, Garrett, and Kenleigh's b-day party on September 24th.  They are having a Disney theme bday party complete with a bounce castle.

5.  Tracy and Jeremy's wedding October 1st. I told Tracy I would be there as long as I wasn't in labor :)

6.  Xander's 1st b-day party on October 2nd.  I am due on Xander's actual birthday which is the 9th, but my sister moved the party up a week in hopes I would be able to make it.

After these events are behind us I will be ready for the arrival of Baby Side.  I am going to start doing everything in my power the evening of October 2nd to get this baby ready to go.  I might even get a little crazy on the dance floor at Tracy and Jeremy's wedding to help jump start the labor :).

Here is a picture from 33 weeks.

Is it a boy or a girl???

This seems to be the first question everyone asks a pregnant lady.  Once they hear we aren't finding out everyone likes to guess what the baby will be.  It is so funny to me because the answers and reasons they think always vary.  I had a guy at work ask if he could touch my belly and tell me what the baby is.  Its weird enough when a complete stranger touches your belly, but when a guy that you work with asks it might be even more weird.  He said it was a girl and he is always right so we will see.  Others say I am carrying low so it is a boy.  I am not leaning in a certain direction, but know I will be prepared either way.  We have all the bedding ready to go.  If its a girl we picked this bedding...
and if its a boy it will be this bedding

I love both beddings so I am going to have a hard time returning either one.  I have them both sitting in our guest room ready to go into the nursery and one to go back to pottery barn.  I even have a boy and girl rug in the nursery just waiting to see which one will have a permanent home on our nursery floor.  I asked Chad the other day if we could just keep both of them for the next one and he just laughs at me.  We will know in 10 short weeks hopefully 9, but I am not going to be picky.

Here is my latest bump picture.  This picture was taken at 27 weeks.  You can see the color of our nursery and crib in the background
I promise to update pictures of the nursery as soon as it is more put together.

the bump is growing

Sorry, I know I have been MIA for several weeks but I am back!  Week 24 has arrived and so much is kicking into gear.  Thanks to Shelley's (chads mom) boyfriend the nursery is being painted as I type, my brother-in-laws are helping Chad set up the furniture this weekend, and the closet is filling up :).  I am really starting to feel pregnant and loving every minute of it.  I thought I had escaped food cravings...well not anymore.  My latest is s'mores and I really think I could eat them for breakfast, lunch, and dinner!  Really just give me any sweet and I will be happy though.  At my last appointment I was measuring a week behind, but I think I will have caught up by my next apt on July 1st. (esp with all those s'mores). Here are some bump pictures and I will be sure to update some pictures of the nursery next week.

A purchase has been made

Yes, I know I am only 13 weeks but we bought baby furniture.  My mom and I went to Decor 4 Kids last week and I fell in love.  Of course the set I fell in love with is on back order for 24 weeks so that would make me 37 weeks and my furniture would just be arriving, YIKES!  The owner  knew how worried I was about being 37 weeks and just getting my furniture so they called the manufacturer and they were able to put it on the next shipment.  Now instead of 24 weeks we will have the furniture in 4-8 weeks!!!  Decor 4 Kids is great and I definitely recommend them. I am already planning in my mind what will go in the hutch, what the bedding will look like, and what color I will paint the nursery.  This is starting to get very real and we are so excited.  Chad currently works in the room where the nursery will be so we are in the process of setting up his office in the basement and many other things to get our house ready for Baby Side!!!
I ordered the crib, combo dresser, hutch, and 5 drawer piece
